In the high school where I graduated, Santa Ana High School in Orange County, California, they now have books in their library, under African American Studies, with content about raping babies and sex with dogs. This book is called PUSH. Many parent organizations have tried to ban or remove books like these from schools, however the teachers unions (National Educators Association and California Teachers Association) prohibit this type of censorship in the name
of Academic Freedom. And now Governor Newsom has empowered the Teachers Union by passing a law (AB 1078) to forbid removal of books like these that he says promote diversity, inclusion and anti-racism. Please read the excerpts below. Is this how the black community wants their culture represented in our schools across America? After reading this, I am ashamed to be an alumna of Santa Ana High School.
