Flamer is in Mendez Intermediate School in Santa Ana. Both of these books are endorsed by the California Teachers Association, even though most teachers would say these books are very inappropriate and do not belong in our schools. It's time teachers stand up and Opt Out of their radically led Union.
The Hate U Give is part of the Ethnic Studies Curriculum for 9th grade in Santa Ana Unified. Orange County. It is also available at these Santa Ana Intermediate Schools: Lathrop, Mendez, Sierra (K-8), Villa and Santiago (K-8)
